Ken's childhood love of recording train sounds lead to his recording sound effects for the movie Runaway Train as well as many other well-known Hollywood films. His mechanical design abilities aided him in creating special props and devices to create specific sounds needed. His gun and bullet recordings became the standard of the industry. He eventually became an editor and sound designer on films, some of which were nominated for the Golden Reel and Academy Award in sound editing. His personal collection of train recordings is published on compact disc under the name TRAKWORKS.
